  • Beschreibung: Dimitris returns to his home island after a seven-year absence only to find the woman he loves, Marina, married to the son of the tough moneylender, Nikolis, whose fault it was that Marina’s father, Captain Pantelis, lost his boat. The marriage took place out of despair and necessity in order to save their only means of subsistence, and it is only too obvious that Marina is miserable with her husband. However, Dimitris continues to love Marina, and so he buys the boat and brings it back to the island. When one of Nikolis’ henchmen attempts to sink it, he is stopped by Captain Pantelis’ intervention. Marina leaves her husband to live with Dimitris.
